Papalinos Pizza in Louisville, Kentucky

When you are not in the mood to cook, in need of a nice warm meal, and are working on a budget, what do you turn to? For me, pizza is the answer. It is no secret that just about every human indulges in a slice of pizza every now and then and they would be crazy not to do so. Pizza is quick, cheap, and full of flavor. While I don’t eat pizza as much as my taste buds would want me to, I do enjoy splurging my calorie intake here and there, and wanted to find a pizza place that made it worth me doing so. Even though I am not discrediting Papa John’s, Pizza Hut, or Dominos, (because trust me, I will take a slice of pizza from them as well), I am saying that some pizza places just get it right. So, I decided to hang up the phone with my order in pizzas and make a trip to Papalionos to see if a hidden “slice” of treasure could be found.

Papalinos is located in Louisville, Kentucky in the Springhurst area. Papalinos is right across the street from Tinsletown. The location of Paplinos in Springhurst is great for an afternoon lunch break since shopping centers and movies are within walking distance. The atmosphere of Papalinos is also a great place to escape for a lunch break since the inside has free wifi and outlets. Though the location of Papalinos is nice, Papalinos has even more to offer. First, let me say that Papalinos is a great company that works with the community in Louisville, Kentucky in order to help those in need. Each month, Papalinos works on a new project in order to help those in need. This month, Papalinos is working with animal shelters in the Louisville area in order to supply the shelters with food, cleaning supplies, and pads for the animals. Knowing that a part of your money goes towards helping others makes you not feel as guilty for eating that slice of pizza (and let me tell you, their pizza is great).

The pizza at Papalinos is made with fresh ingredients and gives you the authentic taste that pizza should have. While Papalinos pizza menu if full of options ranging from “the righteous pig” to “the veggie” pizzas, I decided to keep it simple and go with the “plain Jane.” The name plain Jane is very deceiving for this pizza. Even though it is meant to represent the classic cheese pizza, it is anything but ordinary or plain. The plain Jane has Ramona cheese, basil, oregano, and mozzarella cheese with Papalinos’ homemade sauce. The fresh flavor that this pizza possesses is unmatchable and not to mention, can be purchased at a fair price. At lunch, Papalinos offers a special where you can get two of their garlic knots, a slice of pizza, and a drink for only six dollars. The slices of pizza at Papalinos are new york style slices that are huge and  comparable to half of a pizza pie.  While the pizza is great, the garlic knots are my favorite part of the lunch meal deal. The garlic knots are rolled up pretzel pieces that have been brushed with butter, garlic, and parmesan cheese. The texture and the flavor of the garlic knots makes the entire meal complete. So, the next time that you find yourself hungry and in the Louisville area, I would highly recommend stopping by Papalinos to try their unique menu items; or, if you are looking just to get out of the house, and are not sure if you want pizza, Papalino’s has a fully stacked bar that has seasonal beers on draft as well as a full menu of wine selections. With a great price, a great taste, a great atmosphere, and not to mention a great restaurant that gives back to their community,  it is easy to see why Papalinos is the place to go when you would like to put your order-in pizza shops on hold.
